LINCOLN (AP) — The foundation started by the late Johnny Carson has donated $250,000 to the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

It's the second donation to the public-private partnership from the John W. Carson Foundation. In 2003, it was awarded $500,000.

The Nebraska Cultural Endowment supports the Nebraska Humanities Council and the Nebraska Arts Council. It's currently raising $5 million for an endowment.

Carson, the longtime TV talk-show host of "The Tonight Show," was born in Corning, Iowa, in 1925. He moved with his family to Norfolk when he was 8. A comedy festival is held there each year in his honor.
